The Outer Layer

United By Blue Men's Wheeler Coat: Feel almost as good as you look by buying a jacket that not only shields you from the elements but also helps clean up your local waterway. With each purchase UBB cleans up 1lbs of trash from a US waterway. This jacket is also made of recycled materials so your really helping the environment twice! $168

Columbia Men's Evolution Valley Jacket: It's hard to beat the reliability of an outdoor apparel company that has been innovating their gear for over 80 years. This light-weight rain jacket is perfect to throw on over any casual to smart-casual outfit you happen to pick out on a rainy day. Great for work and for play. $130*

Taylor Stitch The Winslow Jacket: This jacket is no joke. Made from handmade waxed cotton canvas crafted in the US, this workman's jacket is great for adding some rugged vibes to your rainy day getup. It's also great for those misty spring mornings and for those lucky enough to be around boats in thier leisure time since the jacket is lined with what is essentially a wool blanket to keep you warm and dry. $268*

The Top

Grayers Todd Slub Henley: Whats the big deal with slub? Well it's thicker cotton strands woven together in a somewhat imperfect way to give a shirt more texture and make it a little thicker, perfect for a cool rainy spring day. This henley from Grayers is a great base layer, but can also be worn by itself. $65

Richer Poorer Long Sleeve Crew Neck Tee: This is a basic long sleeve made in the US of A (LA) that is the base layer of all base layers. Its simple, pre shrunk, and in a great shade of gray that will go with navy, olive, maroon, or tan garments, perfect for a rainy day.  $42

J.Crew Factory Texture Cotton Crew Neck Sweater: The most fancy casual option on our list, this sweater is great for when you have to trek through the rain to a work meeting but don't want to risk one of your finer garments getting wet. $35*

The Bottom

Proof Nomad Pants: These Nomad pants are designed to stretch, pull, bend, scrape and stay dry throughout all types of wear, giving the wearer the ability to transition from biking to desking to hiking to drinking without having to change. They are water resistant and quick-drying so they are perfect for a commute in the rain. $98*

Outlier OG Climber Pants: While you may not need to go climbing in your day to day, these ultra stretch, water resistant pants are super comfortable and durable. So whether you are walking to a coffee shop around the corner in a drizzle or having to run a few blocks to catch your choice of mass transit in a downpour, these long-lasting pants won't leave you sopping wet for first 4 hours of your workday. $225

Mission Workshop The Division Pants: These are some of the best commuter pants we've seen on the market so far. They have a great modern cut and provide the needed stretch and water resistance to ride your bike or complete an impromptu sprint in the rain. $225

The Feet

Johnston & Murphy Myles Wingtip Boot: If you are in need of a boot that has a bit of detailing but will also perform regardless of weather, then these J&Ms are the right boot for you. Whether you're partying in a hunting cabin or going to a speak easy on a wet night these boots have the style and utility you need to get through it all. $198* (on sale for $140)

KG Kurt Geiger Chelsea Boot: Hailing from the land across the pond, these Brando Chelsea Boots from Kurt Geiger are a solid choice to keep your toes dry and feet looking sophisticated. The leather based will keep you dry, while the classic elastic side gore and leather pull tab make them an easy on and off for leaving your shoes at the door. $155* (on sale from $185)

Timberland Heritage 6" Waterproof Boot: These are not your classic bright construction Tims. They are styled to transition from outdoor to indoor wear, while keeping the tradition of excellent waterproofing Timberland has been known for over the years. $190*

Accessories

Nordstrom Men's Shop Umbrella: The main accessory necessary on a rainy day. This Umbrella from Nordstrom is sturdy and wont get destroyed in light wind like many of its more expensive counter parts. Plus the cane-style adds a bit of sophistication the pocket umbrellas lack.  $30*

Herschel Settlement Studio Backpack: This Herschel isn't exactly like the rest. This backpack is made of a water resistant material that will keep your stuff dry regardless of how long you end up wandering through the rain. However, since it is their "studio" size, it can only fit up to a 15" laptop, a camera, and some extras, so if you are looking to use it as an overnight bag, it may be a little tight.  $120

Heavy-Duty Leather Preservative: If you are using leather to shield yourself from the rain, make sure you take care of it. Using a preservative like this one from Filson on, let's say, your leather shoes, keeps them water resistant and rehydrates them after they spend 20 hours getting wet, then dry, then wet again. $9
