Rolla's Stinger Skinny Jeans

via revolve.com

via revolve.com

For those of us into the streetwear game, these Rolla's skinny jeans should be a closet standard. The iconic knee rip design and skinny tapper from the knee down to the ankle give these jeans a classic streetwear look without being too stiff since they have elastane woven into the cotton denim. What's better is they aren't going to be as expensive as some of their higher designer counterparts.

Brooks Brothers Field Parka

Via Brooksbrothers.com

Via Brooksbrothers.com

A perfect outer layer for the colder side of the fall and the beginning of winter, this field parka from Brooks Brothers is a water-resistant shell with a classic patch pocket design. The waterproof twill gives you protection from the elements and resists wrinkling, meaning you can roll it up when you pack without worrying about it creasing. The parka also comes with a hideaway hood for the rainy days and is half-lined putting it in the sweet spot between warm and lightweight.

Available at Brooksbrothers.com for $336 (on sale from $448)

H&M Cotton T-shirt

via HM.com

via HM.com

Tis' the season of layering, and while we have been focusing on the warmer outer layers we felt it was time to give you a good option for underneath. This plain white cotton t-shirt from H&M has a wider neck, giving it a bit of personality compared to the normal crew or v-necks you are accustomed to. It's 100% cotton, and at a cheap price, meaning they are durable and you can buy a few without breaking the bank. A small investment to tie an outfit together.

Fit note: If you have a wider chest, be sure to go with a larger size as their cut is a bit more snug around the ribcage than most other brands.

Topman Lightweight Bomber Jacket

via Nordstom.com

via Nordstom.com

A lightweight bomber jacket is the perfect outer garment for early fall and spring, given the color you choose. This bomber from Topman is our pick for the minimalist in all of us. The 100% polyester outer layer, and the 3 pocket design (two exterior and one interior) give this jacket all of the classic design elements of a well constructed bomber. That being said, there isn't anything fancy about this classic top layer, but that means you can layer it with what ever casual shirt you want, which is why we like it so much.

Nautica Striped Sweater

via Nautica.com

via Nautica.com

The Nautica Striped Sweater is a closet standard for fall. It provides a sophisticated look while being extremely comfortable. What's better, is their modern slim fit which gives you enough room to add layers underneath but wont bunch up at the bottom. This cut alone makes this sweater worth its weight in 100% cotton. No one wants to keep messing with the reappearing muffin top at the bottom of a poorly cut sweater. So toss out your old one, and replace it with this blue-striped gem.

Neff Daily Heather Beanie

via Pacsun.com

Fondly referred to as the droopy hat, Neff makes some of the most iconic beanies on the market. The daily heather is 100% acrylic, making it super soft and able to be machine washed without losing its shape or elasticity. As the cold descends on the northern half of the US, one of these will be a necessity from now until April.

Every gentleman needs a well-fitting, multifaceted blazer they can wear to work, and out for a night on the town. The beauty about Indochino is their clothes are made to measure to ensure fit, customizable, and are sold at a price lower than most off-the-peg suit shops. We like this windowpane blazer because it is in the sweet spot where flashy meets business. The color also lends itself to be more versatile with common slack colors and jeans.

Allen Edmonds shoes are an American classic. Are they pricey? Yes. Are they worth it? Absolutely. Gap 1969 Denim Jacket

via gap.com

via gap.com

Few things last like the denim jacket, and the Fall is the perfect time to rock it. This kind of jacket is a standard that needs to be in every modern gentleman's closet. Layering it over a t-shirt in early October and throwing a flannel on underneath toward the end of the season is our typical wear routine. The only caution we will impart is to avoid the denim suit. If you are wearing a blue jean jacket, do us a favor and skip the blue jeans.

Ted Baker Long Sleeve Polo

As the Summer heat begins to fade, and the Fall temperatures creep in, it's time to start investing in your cool weather layers. This woven polo by Ted Baker, while expensive compared to our normal picks, is pretty unique and a perfect investment. The collar buttons, breast pocket, woven texture, and slim fit make this piece worth the price. These various accents allow this shirt to pop under a blazer or be worn all by itself.

Available on TedBaker.com for $149

Bonobos Stretch Washed Chino

These chinos are a staple in our millennial closet. They're slim cut and have loud inner-pocket fabric, making them a pant that fits and has some character. Add to that their new stretch line, which allows for increased bend at the knee, and you have a dress up/dress down pant that you can pretty much do squats in (which would seem unnecessary, until you need to do it). We recommend getting the Graphites, Jet Blues, and the Khakis. This way, you'll be set on pants for almost any dress/casual occasion in temperatures below 65 degrees.

Available on Bonobos.com for $98.

Greats Royale Chukkas in Ox Blood

This new sneaker company is coming out with great takes on some classic shoes, and these Royale Chukkas are no different. They took some unique Ox blood-colored suede and put it on what looks like a classic vans sole, making this an amazing versatile shoe that is appropriate for work and for play.

Available at Greats.com for $169.

gowan [NYC]'s American Oxford Shirt

Our friends at gowan [NYC] know what they're doing around an oxford shirt. Having created the world's only american sourced, milled, and constructed cotton oxford with their old line March and Held (R.I.P.) they have tested and proven their altered dimensioned take on an american classic works. In fact, most of us here at What is a Gentleman own at least one of these bad boys (some of us own 3+), and it is turning into a going out go-to. The best part is, they just dropped their price, and didn't change the product (still constructed in NYC), which means you're getting more bang for your buck. Enjoy.

Pace Breaker Short - Lulu Lemon

Alright, gents - I know what you're thinking. Lulu Lemon? You've got to be kidding me. Trust me - I thought the same thing. Then, I spontaneously tried these shorts on after noticing that they were on sale. I haven't taken them off since. The fabric is soft and extra stretchy, and they have a built-in liner made from breathable, sweat-wicking LYCRA (so think somewhere between full compression and regular boxer briefs). I took this to mean that underwear is optional, although this has yet to be confirmed, so it's almost like going commando without actually going commando. Do yourself a favor and check them out. If you hurry, they may still be on sale!

Available at lululemon.com for $68 (regular price)
