Labor Day has come and passed, marking the unofficial end of summer. With that comes the start of the snarky comment "don't you know you can't wear white after Labor Day?" Thanks Brittany, we get it.

In order to quell Brittany's sass we have collected a few items that aren't technically white, but close so you can yell at Brittany "It's not technically white Brit, so back off I look good!" To kick us off, an oatmeal colored slub cotton henley from J.crew. This will be a Fall standard as a stand alone top or in a layer scheme. Pair with browns and black and greens and blues, and most other colors because it's oatmeal, but can basically function as white, Brittany.

Since mother nature is holding on to cold weather, it will probably be smart to invest in a top layer you can bring to most weekend getaways for the spring season. This Henley hoodie from J.Crew is a great option that has a lot of versatility in terms of heat management. The hood and buttons provide a wide range of cold cover options, from hood down, buttons undone, and sleeves pulled up for the high 60s, to the hood up, buttons buttoned, and sleeves down for the low 50s. So, if you in for large temperature swings for the day or the weekend, this is a necessary layer that will look good regardless of your preferred wearing option.

Buck Mason Vintage Tri-Blend Curved hem Henley

"The new classic" is a phrase that is thrown around a lot in marketing. Whether its a car commercial, furniture ads, or apparel marketing, chances are a few brands have used it. However, when looking into the new henleys from Buck Mason the phrase came to mind. It has a blended cotton fabric that gives it a vintage look and texture, the classic henley 4-button design shouts 1920s lounge wear, and the curved hem at the bottom produces a casual silhouette drawn from old baseball tees of yesteryear. Giving it a surprisingly authentic vintage feel, for a newly made product. This is definitely a staple base layer for the spring transition and a great "just in case" toss-in for a weekend away in the summer. This is a $50 shirt that you'll get your money's worth out of. We suggest wearing it with a pair of jeans, and a black Chelsea boot or chukka. And on a colder day, maybe a thinker button-down on top.

Available on BuckMason.com for $50
