Everlane Merino Wool Scarf

via everlane.com

Weekly Theme: Cold Weather Prep

Tis the season of layers and warm accessories. The quintessential layering piece for the colder weather is a scarf. Scarfs need to be soft, and warm, but also breath. The key is good wool, which will provide that heat but also wick away moisture. Everlane, as you may be aware, sometimes does a “choose what you pay” option for their overstock. This wool and acrylic scarf is one of those items right now. Traditional price would sit around $115, however, Everlane’s direct to consumer format allow them to sell it for $55, but since it’s overstock, you can get it for as low as $22.

via kiehls.com

Weekly Theme: Cold Weather Prep

This week we are reviewing accessories that you’ll need as the mercury struggles to climb higher than 55. To start off, a critical accessory that keeps your lips healthy, chapstick. Now we have suggested this before, but we haven’t found any other chapstick that protects from the wind and cold like Kiehl’s. This chapstick has shea butter (a standard) and Squalane, an olive derivative that helps keep your lips protected from external stressors which you’ll need as the wind picks up and temps drop.

Junk Never Surrender Headband Review

via Junkbrands.com

via Junkbrands.com

Weekly Theme: Fall Workout Gear

If you have even mildly long hair, odds are you end up needing to wear a hat or a headband during a workout. When a barbell is involved, a brimmed hat can get in the way quite frequently, that’s why a headband is our preferred method of keeping the hair out of our eyes. Junk is the premier brand when it comes to cross-training headbands. Sweatbands are your father’s game, these are the new wave. So if you have hair you need to push back while power cleaning, snatching, or squating, a junk headband like this one is “wear it’s at.”

Lululemon Metal Vent Tech Surge Long Sleeve T Review

via lululemon.com

via lululemon.com

Weekly Theme: Fall Workout Gear

Continuing up the body to the torso, we have this metal vent tech long sleeve from Lululemon. Lulu infused silver into the fabric, not to make it more expensive (though maybe) but to fight odor. Silver is naturally anti-bacterial, meaning this shirt won’t stink up your laundry basket like your 100% cotton shirts do post workout. This long sleeve was also designed with vents down the spine, on the sides, and around underarms meaning you keep dry while staying warmer than you would in your standard t-shirt.

Reebok Thermowarm Compression Tight Review

via Reebok.com

via Reebok.com

Weekly Theme: Fall Workout Gear

When your workout program involves olympic lifting or at least a decent amount of barbell work, tights come in handy more than you’d initially realize. Protecting your shins from bar contact, and you legs as a whole from the cold during indoor-outdoor workouts, tight are a critical part of any cross-trainer’s workout wardrobe. These tights from Reebok are standard issue. They aren’t flashy, or made from space material (polyester), but they stay tight, they’re ventilated in the right spots, and they work, what else do you need?

Bn3th Pro 2.0 Boxer Brief Review

via BN3TH.com

via BN3TH.com

Weekly Theme: Fall Workout Gear

We were sent a pair of these bad boys from BN3TH to try out and figured they would fit perfectly in our Fall workout gear theme this week. At first, we were weary of wearing 94% polyester to the gym, but ended up pleasantly surprised but the moisture wicking ability of these junk huggers. They feel super light, and the 6% of spandex allows for a lot of unrestricted movement. Their “My package” pouch gives your friend and his buddies plenty of room to hangout while supporting them from underneath, reducing downward tension without constricting your “friends.”

Nike Free x Metcon Review

via nike.com

via nike.com

Weekly Theme: Fall Workout Gear

The coming of Fall doesn’t just affect what you wear out or to work, it also affects what you wear to the gym. If you attend any type of metcon class or belong to a crossfit-style gym, you know it can get cold in the gym quick, not to mention the outdoor runs. Thats why our theme this week is Fall workout gear. It’s time to revamp the workout wear to set yourself up for success for the cooler months. We are building from the ground up this week starting with Nike’s revamp of the Metcons. They crossbred the nike free’s and the Metcons to come up with a shoe that has the soul of a cross trainer with a look you could wear out. While the Free-inspired mesh toes can get loose after heavy wear, the platform and grip pattern are perfect for those looking to lift and run in the same workout. The added lace braces give these a more interesting look than the classic metcon while also providing extra protection for rope climbs.

Robert Graham Pollard Perfect Fit Pants Review

via RobertGraham.com

via RobertGraham.com

This week’s theme is one of variance. Jeans have always been a staple, but with a shift in jean trends coming seemingly every 18 months we are offering some alternatives for the Fall season. Starting off, we give you something a little different. These chinos from Robert Graham are oozing with character. The base pattern for these is a micro chevron, layered with a pin-dot style dobby print, giving these pants more visual textured than most. The taper is slim but not overly skinny, and is designed with a standard 5-pocket construction, making them as familiar in feel as they are different in look. Be different and and set an example that’s less lemming and more leader.

Everlane Midweight Slim Chino Review

via Everlane.com

via Everlane.com

Khaki-colored chinos are an all-season kind of wear, but these khakis are a little darker than the normal office style, making them perfect for Fall. These midweight slim chinos from Everlane are a great jean alternative as they are thicker than your light summer pants, but also aren’t super thick or lined with flannel, making them cozy yet breathable. The slim leg gives you a more modern fit, and the slanted pockets make them seem a little more formal. Snag a pair of these and wear them with almost any top, but we suggest a blue chambray button down, or olive sweater for a really nice look.

Fossil Leather RFID Passport Case Review

via fossil.com

via fossil.com

This week’s Goods theme is based around travel, and a touch of leather. Leather is simply more durable than almost all other natural materials used in clothing (other than metals of course), which makes it a perfect resource to add to your daily carry, and wear when traveling. To kick off this short week, we have the Fossil Leather RFID Passport Case. Sure you can just carry around your naked passport, but that tends to lead to bent corners, and marked up pages, which is the last thing you want when you are getting judged each time you head into a new country. This case also protects your passport from rogue RFID readers, has a zip pocket and 5 card pockets should you want to turn it into your travel wallet. Up your travel game, and be better than the college kids waving their bare passports around.
