Pendleton Motor Robe

Don't be confused by the title, this is a blanket and a pretty great one at that. Pendleton Woolen Mills is a 100-year-old  milling company located in Oregon. And for those 100 years, they have been making some of the best U.S. wool fabric in the country. These blankets are 52" x 66", made with 100% virgin wool, and come with a leather carrying case for ease of transportation. They are perfect for the couch, the drive-in, a picnic, or camping (a long picnic if you will). While the wool used in these blankets isn't as soft as Merino, it is very comfy and will cost you less than a Merino wool blanket of similar size. Grab one for your couch or your car, or both.

Shinola Soft Linen Journal

When Shinola does something, they do it right: no cutting corners, using only high quality, cost efficient source materials, and design with simplicity in mind. All of which is done in the good ol' US of A. This notebook is no different. All of the materials are sourced from the U.S. and made by Shinola in Detroit. What makes this notebook truly special is its binding. The smyth-sewn binding (a threaded binding usually performed by sewing stacks of 16 signatures (32 pages) to their neighboring stacks) allows the notebook to lay completely flat with no center crease bulge like with most other glue-bound notebooks. The paper they use is milled using wood from sustainable U.S. forests and is acid-free, reducing environmental impact. All of this bundled into one simple, yet efficient notebook that is both enjoyable to look at and use.

Saturdays NYC Gray Short Sleeve Oxford

This 100% cotton oxford shirt is the short sleeve counterpart to its best selling long sleeve brother. Saturdays is known for a great fit and a quality product. The button-down collar keeps the collar's shape even after several washes, and the relaxed fit gives you some breathing room, allowing you to actually lift up your arms more that 80 degrees (unlike some cheaper, slimmer cuts).

Todd Snyder Linen Shirt in White

The heat wave hitting the US has given us a taste of what is to come. In preparation, we give you this Linen shirt from Todd Snyder. This linen shirt was picked specifically because it has a button down collar. Since linen collars don't have a lot of weight, they tend to curl up or flatten out giving the appearance of wings. The buttons keep the shape of the collar regardless of your activity level. This shirt is also 100% linen, not some cotton combination, allowing it to be lighter, and breath better than its cheaper counterparts. Pair with dark jeans, or khakis and a Corona.

Walsh LA '84 Athletic Trainers

Designed by the man who created the 1984 English Olympic team outfits, Norman Walsh (hence the name), these trainers have some sweet styling and a great variety of textures to give it a complex feel and sporty look. The suede toe and heel should be treated before you wear them on the street, but their classic Reebok inspired silhouette and red pop in color will be sure to grab attention here in the states since they aren't Nike flyknits, or Jordans.

All Saints Parker Leather Jacket

via allsaints.com

If you want a classic leather jacket, this is not the one for you. However, if you want a leather jacket that is a bit different from the norm and has a lot of character, then be sure to grab this biker-bomber hybrid. This jacket has the fit of a bomber, but the leather construction of a classic biker. The inclusion of asymmetrical zippers and a button fastening strap across the neck with a straight zipper closure mixes traditional punk style with a more clean racing style design culminating in Frankenstein-esque final product that looks awesome. On top of this, the brown shoulder inserts bring some added character not common in other brands.

Nixon "The Station" Leather Watch

Nixon is the surfing and skating watch brand that has dominated your local PacSun for over a decade. Over the last few years however, they have upped their game and added new designs that are less loud and more refined. While this watch doesn't look like the typical Nixon timepiece, it does have Nixon soul in that it can be submerged up to 100 meters, giving it dramatically more waterproofing than your other $200 dollar watches that can't go more than 3. The black leather and navy face also give this watch wearability with both blue and black outfits. Wearing tip: The metal on this watch is gold, so be sure to wear a belt buckle of a similar metallic color.

Everlane Crewneck Cashmere Sweater

A high-quality, soft cashmere sweater is a  closet standard for any young professional. This sweater from Everlane is made of 100% Mongolian cashmere, which is slightly less expensive than its European or Japanese sourced counterparts. That doesn't mean this sweater will be scratchy or pill like the hybrid wool fabrics though, the 100% cashmere is super soft and the slim fit makes this sweater lay nicely without bunching up around the midsection. Note: this sweater is dry clean only because of the higher quality of the fabric, so don't accidentally throw it in the wash if you want it to remain the same size, and soft.

The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday

Stoicism is an ancient philosophy based on Marcus Aurelius' commentary around a person's perception of obstacles that arise between a person and their goals. The basis of this philosophy states that obstacles, no matter how hard they may appear to overcome, are put in front of you for a reason. And your ability to navigate over or around them will lead you to grow in a way that will prepare you for future endeavors. It's a pretty interesting way to think about the world, and Ryan Holiday does an excellent job making it relatable through history and daily life. He gives copious examples of persons who have used it in the distant and more recent past, and motivates you, the reader, to include this perception-based philosophy into your current decision-making process. We recommend this for anyone looking to improve their daily outlook and be motivated to do what they love.

I want my blue sky - Canvas Painting

Adding to your walls is important to make your house feel put together. Canvas art is a perfect way to do so. Supporting small artists is also a great way to invest in the little guy and in return, you get pieces of art that are less likely to be owned by visitors. This piece, called I want my blue sky, has great contrast in coloring and an interesting flow from top to bottom, catching the eye for an extended period of time.

Brooks Brothers Milano Fit Navy Blazer

Known for their more traditional American-cut and design, Brooks Brothers has come out with a newer, more slim cut, off-the-peg option to compete with their more modern-styled competitors. Drake's Blue Chambray Button-Down

Drake's is a famous English brand known across the globe for their 7-fold, high-quality ties. Drake's took this knowledge of fabric and tailoring applied to a soft blue chambray shirt, and made a super comfortable daily wearer. The cutaway collar is a classic design, and the buttons are mother-of-pearl from Austrailia. There are no buttons for the collar, so we suggest magnetic collar stays like wurkinstiffs. A fit note, the chest a good size for most based on their sizes, but consider minor tailoring for the waist if you are slimmer, as this is a standard fit shirt.

Warby Parker Haskell Sunglasses

As you may have noticed, we are a big fan of WP. For the price, it's hard to find glasses and shades that are made to the quality Warby Parker offers. These Haskell's come in a few different color patterns, but we like these two-toned blue ones best. Designed with a more round lens and a keyhole notch at the nose, these are made for a gent with a longer face and a guy willing to make a statement when the sun is out. The lenses provide 100% UV protection and are layered with a scratch resistant coating, allowing you to wear them the way you want, without having to carry a case around in your pocket or bag.

These are a steal on WarbyParker.com for $95

Magnanni Gerardo Medallion Toe Derby

Founded in Almansa Spain in 1954 with just five employees on the ground floor of a house, Magnanni has been a family run business for 3 generations and still operates out of Almansa. Known for their vibrant leather finishes and contouring silhouettes, these shoes make a statement that stands the test of time. The Gerardo is no exception.

This brown leather dress shoe adorns an intricate medallion on the toe, giving it some character that doesn't overpower the clean look of the shoe. The heal is half leather, half rubber to give you some grip while you wear in the rest of the sole (which is replaceable). We think the craftsmanship of the Magnanni is worthy of its price and with the proper care and solid set of shoe trees could last five years of moderate wear and tear. Wear these bad boys with any navy or medium gray suit or pant. Pro tip: Magnanni's tend to run a little big so we suggest you order a half size smaller than you normally do for a similar dress shoe.
